1957 Bel Air was only available with one V8. Initially, only two carburetor versions were presented: 162HP double -barreled or 180hp four -barreled. Later in the year, a larger 283 V8 was released with a four -barreled carburetor. The latest option was 283 with a rare and expensive fuel injection shared with Corvette producing 283HP. These were called "fuelies"
