The R/T model was one of the performance leaders of the Dodge Charger series in 1971 and is a very popular muscular car today. Design chef and partners Bill Brownlie gave '71 Charger a new look. The body style resembles the main body of a plane that is very different from previous models. Like Coronet R/T and Super Bee, '71 Charger had a special Air Grabber scoop mounted just above the air filter. To direct fresh air to the carburetor, there is a small arm that lifts the bucket under the indicator panel.
