In 1969, when Road Runner was presented in a convertible body style, GTX's sales fell. GTX took small cosmetic changes in the back lamps and grill and side sign lights. An optional "Air Grabber" hood (standard in semi -motor vehicles) had functional openings controlled from the front panel on both sides of the hood.
The 1969 GTX had a standard black sub -body side paint instead of previous strips. The standard 440 V8 is still 375 HP (280 kW). This was the last year in which the convertible model was present in GTX. In 1969, the total production was 701 GTX Cabrio. Eleven of them were equipped with 426 hemi; Four had 4 gears and seven torqueflite automatic.
