About AMT

Aluminum Model Toys (AMT) is a toy brand that is owned by the 2nd round after being purchased in 2012. The former AMT company was founded in Troy, Michigan and in 1948 lawyer West Gallogly, SR. It started as a side job. Later, various kits became very popular. Most of the company's vehicle products were American cars and trucks on a scale of 1:25. In the 1970s, hot rods, customs, trucks and film and TV tools were also produced and their relationship with Star Trek came to the fore.
Since Gallogly had solid connections with Ford Motor Company, he was able to place his first models only in Ford dealers and began a long promotional relationship. [1] Gallogly's first model was made of 1947–1948 Ford Fordor, which was made of cast aluminum and painted with official Ford paint. After releasing successful Ford Sedan models, the company opened a store in Eight Mile Road outside Detroit. In 1949, plastic injection molding became available. The first Ford aluminum promotion model was presented and the aluminum was abandoned. Different plastic colors could now be used, so the company name was quietly changed to AMT, which reduces the importance of the word "aluminum". For example, AMT's 1949 and 1950 Ford and Plymouth sedans were the first plastic models with the 1950 Studebaker Coupe. In these promotions, there were usually installed engines that cannot be seen from bright silver -colored glasses. Metal chassis and press casting metal chrome coated bumpers, which were later replaced with chrome -coated plastic. Most of the time, official factory paint colors were applied to the models. The company's first commercial products were previously mounted plastic promotional models that could only be obtained from automobile dealers. In the early 1950s, Gallogly's daily operations were transferred to George Toteff so that Gallogly can look better at the law firm. The model design was kept in the company, but the molding was provided from the outside. Michigan, the Continental Plastics in Fraser, was one of the companies agreed to mold the models of AMT.
