Designed as the primary fighter aircraft of the US Navy, the F-14 Tomcat was able to perform air superiority, accompanying and attack tasks, and was undoubtedly one of the most sophisticated and technologically developed aircraft serving an aircraft carrier. The prototype machine flew on December 21, 1970 and the first aircraft was delivered to the US Navy after four years.
