The Northrop F-5 is a family of supersonic light hunter aircraft designed as a project specially financed by Northrop Corporation in the late 1950s. There are two main models: the original F-5A and F-5B Freedom Fighter variants and F-5E and F-5F Tiger II variants. The design team focused on performance and low maintenance costs, wrapped a small, high aerodynamic hunter aircraft around two compact and high -puvety general Electric J85 engine.
