Hobbytime Review

The Northrop F-5 is a family of supersonic light hunter aircraft designed as a project specially financed by Northrop Corporation in the late 1950s. There are two main models: the original F-5A and F-5B Freedom Fighter variants and F-5E and F-5F Tiger II variants. The design team focused on performance and low maintenance costs, wrapped a small, high aerodynamic hunter aircraft around two compact and high -puvety general Electric J85 engine. McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II is smaller and simpler than contemporaries, the supply and operation of F-5 is less costly, which makes it a popular export plane. Although designed for a role of a day of air, the aircraft is also a talented land attack platform. F-5A was put into service in the early 1960s. During the Cold War, it was produced more than 800 for US allies until 1972. Although the United States did not need a slight hunter aircraft at that time, the Northrop's N-156 Hunter design was supplied about 1,200 Northrop T-38 Talon training aircraft.

In 1970, Northrop won the International Fighter Aircraft (IFA) competition to replace F-5A with better air to air performance against airplanes such as the Soviet Mig-21. The aircraft, which was initially known as F-5A-21, was later F-5E. The general Electric J85 -21 engines were more powerful (5,000 lbf), and more fuel area had an extended and enlarged body. The wings were equipped with extended offensive edge extensions, which provided the increasing wing area and improved maneuverability. The aircraft's avionics were more complex, very importantly, including a radar (initially Emerson Electric an/APQ-153) (F-5A and B did not have radar). F-5a's nose, one of the two sides of the two M39 balls of the ball weapon protected. Various special avionics equipment can be placed at the request of a customer, including an inertia navigation system, Tacan and ECM equipment. [25] In addition, the two-position nasal landing set from Canada CF-5 was included to reduce the departure distance. The first F-5E flew on August 11, 1972. [26] The F-5F, a two-seat talented educational plane, was first offered by flying with a new nose at the Edwards Air Force Base on September 25, 1974. Unlike F-5B, which does not installed a weapon, it was three fit longer, which allowed him to hold a single M39 ball, although his ammunition capacity was reduced. [27] Two people were equipped with Emerson An/APQ-157 radar, a derivative of the An/APQ-153 radar, and had double control and imaging systems to contain a two-person crew. The same moment/APQ-153 range, about 10 nmi. On April 6, 1973, Arizona received the 425th TFS at the Williams Air Force Base, the first F-5E Tiger II. [28] An early series F-5E A sensor package that replaces the radar on the nose and a discovery version with a ball RF-5E was also presented to the tige

F-5A/B Freedom Fighter (Turkish: Freedom Warrior) and F-5E/F Tiger II (Turkish: Tiger II) are an advanced training aircraft with low cost and easy maintenance. The equivalent of the USSR and the eastern bloc is Mig-21. The United States is used as a training aircraft in the air forces in the air force. Due to its cheap cost, it has been the choice of more weak economic countries. The F-5 is a multi-purpose plane and has a very high maneuverability. Sidewinder can carry missiles for air battles. It also carries bombs and rockets for land attacks. The two-person educational version F-5B also has a photochage version called RF-5. F-5 is produced under license in many countries.

In addition to other derivatives of F-5, there is another new derivative for F-5N. The US navy has purchased 44 F-5E Tiger II aircraft of the Swiss Air Force, which has good situations for educational purposes, and equipped it with some enemy elements and revealed a new derivative in the form of F-5n Tiger II. [1] It is a species that the American air force develops 44 F5-B Tiger II, which are out of use in the Swiss Air Force, to equip them with enemy elements and to use them for training flights. As an enemy element, the equipment of Mig-25 Foxat and other Mig elements produced by the Soviet Socialist Republics Union were used. In the radio conversations, the American Air Force defines Mig-25. He also uses this aircraft for demonstration purposes by changing Turkish stars.
