Rockwell B-1 LANCER [n 1] is a supersonic variable sweeping wing, used by the United States Air Force, the United States. It is usually called "bone" (from "B-one"). [1] As of 2022, B-2 is one of the three strategic bombing planes serving in the US Air Force fleet with B-52 Stratofortress.
B-1 was first conceived in the 1960s as a platform that will combine Hustler's Mach 2 speed with the range and carrying capacity of B-52, and ultimately replace both bombardment planes.
