Hobbytime Review

Cessna A -37 Dragonfly or Super Tweet is an American light attack plane developed by T -37 Tweet Tweet Basic Training aircraft by Kansas, Wichita in the 1960s and 1970s. The A-37 was introduced during the Vietnam War and later remained in peace time.
The increasing American military intervention in Vietnam in the early 1960s led to an increase in interest in the fight against rebellion (COIN). At the end of 1962, the US Air Force in Florida Eglin Air Force Base in Hurlburt Field, the Special Air Harp Center evaluated two T-37C for the role.
The Air Force found the T-37 promising, but asked for an improved version of the plane with a much larger load and with much more durability and better short space performance. This meant a heavier plane with stronger engines. In 1963, the Air Force gave a contract to Cessna for two prototypes yacht-37D aircraft: T-37s and modifications containing the following:

Stronger wings.
Three stores on each wing.
360 liters (95 US gallon) capacity larger wing -end fuel tanks.
A general Electric GAU-2B/A 7.62 mm (0.300 inches) "Gatling-style machine gun, fever speed of 3,000 bullets/minutes and 1,500 bullets. The weapon was placed on the back of a wide, useful access panel on the right side of the aircraft's nose. An nişamgah and a gun camera were also stuck.
Better avionics for war area communication, navigation and targeting.
Hard landing set for challenging field work.
These changes meant a serious increase in the weight of the aircraft, and the aircraft had to carry a significant load. For this reason, Cessna has doubled the two Continental J -69 engine with general Electric J85 -j2/5 Turbojet engines, each with 2,400 lbf (11 KN).
The first yacht-37D flew in October 1964, followed by the second prototype a year later. The second prototype had four stores sews instead of three under each wing, and the first prototype was increased to this configuration.
The test results were good, but for the time being, USAF's interest in counter -guerrilla (COIN) aircraft had reduced. The program entered into uncertainty for a while with the "placerace" at the United States National Museum at the United States Air Force National Museum at the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio.
However, the war in Southeast Asia continued to climb. The losses of the Douglas A-1 Skyraider, the United States Navy and the Air Force Service of the Republic of Vietnam, were more than expected, and USAF's interest in CoIN planes was revived. The yacht-37D seemed to be a promising candidate for this job, but the Air Force felt the only way to surely evaluate the plane in the war.
As a result, USAF issued a contract with Cessna for a pre-production party of 39 yachts-37D production to be rebuilt from existing T-37Bs with a few minor changes according to prototypes. These aircraft were initially called AT-37D, but the assignment was quickly changed to A-37A. The second prototype Yacht-37D was removed from the Air Force Museum and upgraded to A-37A standards as part of the test program. A-37A's gross take-off weight is 12,000 lb (5,400 kg), and 2,700 LB (1,200 kg) of this was ammunition. The A-37A held the bilateral control of the T-37B ancestor and allowed it to be used as an operational educator. In "Advanced Air Control (Fac)" operations, the second seat was occupied by an observer. Normally, only one crew took the plane for close support tasks and allowed a slight increase in ammunition.
