On April 16, 2009, the Triders returned to Florida, Jacksonville Deniz Air Base from their latest journeys as a helicopter submarine defense fleet. During this year, the Tridents received the Jimmy Thach award for excellence in the submarine defense war, a final point of the fleet's legacy as a submarine defense fleet. In May, Fleet, Naval Air Station Jacksonville Naval Air Station Norfolk, Virginia'ya permanent task station change and MH-60S Seahawk began to change body. In June 2009, 1 was renamed 1 as the Tridents helicopter Naval Battle Fleet (HSC-9).
On January 13, 2010, the Tridents sent two helicopters to support the united intervention operation and provided humanitarian aid and disaster assistance after the destructive Haiti earthquake. Fleet staff spent three months on the USS Carl Vinson and USS Bataan ships off the coast of Haiti, delivered 280,000 pounds (130,000 kg) disaster aid material and completed 240 Medevac on the besieged island. The Tridents also brought supplies of over 556,000 pounds (252,000 kg) and transferred 1,300 passengers to support the operation.
In the HSC-9, 2011, 2014 and 2017, the Carrier Airwing 8 was re-appointed at the USS George HW Bush, which was deployed to the Gulf of the Mediterranean and Basra. In 2021, the CVW-8 was re-appointed to the USS Gerald R. Ford.
